Predictor Web App Taken Down

I had to take down the predictor.mma-ai.net web application that let you check the odds of any fighter based on the algorithm because it costs me $150 for an EC2 instance with enough memory, CPU, and space to make the predictions. This makes me sad because it was the first Flask app I’d ever developed and I liked it. So if you want to see it back feel free to sponsor it at $150/mo.

In it’s place I wrote a script which scrapes Wikipedia’s Upcoming UFC Events tables and put all the results in the Upcoming link at the top of this page. This removes the fun of looking at historical matchups like who’d win, BJ Penn or Frankie Edgar based on their recent fights, but it’s not worth the cost to me at the moment given ads only support me at about $5-10/mo.

I have chosen to stop showing predictions based on the odd-included model because despite the fact it was 6% more accurate than the no-odds model, it actually makes you less money because it’s mostly just picking the favorite.

  1. Sorry to hear that. I had fun with it.

I have a question about the predictions for the upcoming Lewis-Spivac card – shouldn’t there be a handful of additional fights included? Beside the main evet, Cutelaba-Nzechukwu and also Miles Johns-Vince Morales?

Thanks for website and the predictions!
